Corpses of 15 soldiers declared missing in action have been recovered, the Nigerian Army has said.
The warriors disappeared amid an operation to remove the Boko Haram guerillas from Gashigar Area in Borno State, on October 16, 2016.
The Theater Commander of 'Operation Lafiya Dole', Major-General Lucky Irabor, revealed this on Wednesday, January 11, at a week after week audit of 'Operation Rescue Final', at Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri.
He stated: "The carcasses were recouped at Kamadugou River line range in Maiduguri.
"Among the recuperated cadavers was that of Lieutenant-Colonel K. Yusuf, the previous Commanding Officer of 223 Tank Battalion.
"They had since been covered in Maimalari Cantonment Cemetery with full military respects."
The armed force additionally said it captured 963 associated individuals with the Boko Haram organization amid an operation between January 4 and 9.
